Advantages
of a Garden Reception
Whether at your home, in a country field or on the
beautiful grounds of an inn or country club, a tent adds a touch
of elegance to your important day, providing special moments that
all your guests will remember. Your reception is personalized. It
takes place at the house you grew up in or a location you fell in
love with. The reception is held outside beneath the sunny skies
(hopefully!). In the event of inclement weather, sidewalls can be
put up to keep the entire affair dry. A tent will protect your guests
from the elements, yet give them the freedom to move about in the
open air. You can also decorate the tent and surroundings according
to your own tastes and dreams. From a carefully styled theme to
streamers or balloons, it is completely up to your imagination.
Special Events of New England will have the
tent set-up by Thursday evening, allowing you plenty of time to
decorate. Having the tent erected at your home ahead of time adds
to the anticipation and excitement of your wedding. Renting a tent
is like having a hall in your backyard. You get to decide where
everything will go. The dance floor can go in the center of the
tent, or in a corner. You decide where the head table will be positioned.
Renting a tent gives you more freedom of choice on important decisions,
such as choosing a caterer. There will not be any time limitations
on your reception. Your guests can stay as long as they want. This
may also eliminate the need for the “party” after the reception.
You can also use the tent for the rehearsal dinner.
The
cost of a garden reception under a tent varies according to what
each individual is looking to accomplish with the tent. It may or
may not be less expensive than utilizing a banquet facility. Some
halls require a minimum number of guests or have a rental fee for
the room. Examples where it should be less expensive would be if
an open bar is planned or if you were providing your own meal. If
a caterer is to be hired, you may find that you have more choices
in regards to the cost and quality of a meal. Consider this advantage
with the comfort of your home and the lack of time restrictions,
and you may decide on a tented reception even if the cost is higher.
No other setting can provide the same comfort and independence of
your own home. |
